The Seattle University men's basketball team used five defenses to defeat Point Loma Nazarene 78-65 Friday night.

The Redhawks' first exhibition game against the Sea Lions featured two veteran starting lineups. Junior forward Mike Boxley and guard Chris Gweth, senior guard Shaun Burl, forward Austen Powers and forward Leigh Swanson led the Redhawks with 61 points and 28 rebounds.

Following his team's sixth road loss of the season at Montana State Saturday, head coach Jerry Glanville sat in the Portland State locker room shaking his head in frustration.



Amidst his displeasure, Glanville managed to sum up Portland State's 49-32 defeat with just a few short words.

The message head coach Jerry Glanville passed on to safety Aaron Dickson and linebacker KJ McCrae at film session Monday morning was simple.



"Welcome to big-time football."



Dickson and McCrae headlined a Portland State defense that played Montana tough Saturday but were ultimately outperformed in the waning moments of the third quarter and the entire fourth quarter.
